Meet Shellee: One of our Legal Transcription Students

meet shellee

Shellee McNeese is a former police officer dispatcher who is enrolled in our legal transcription course.  She wants a work-at-home career to spend more time with her children.  Disappointed with other online courses, Shellee found her calling and is graduating soon from our Academy and going to work!  We are excited, too!

Here’s what Shellee says about our legal transcription course …

Hi. I’m Shellee from Texas. Here’s what I want to say about the Legal Transcription course that I am currently enrolled in. (No, I am not being paid anything to say these things.)

I have completed a general transcription course (lots of time and money- although I did learn quite a bit, it took me FOREVER to finish!!) from an online website company that markets heavily to stay-at-home moms.

Cricket Transcription is my Texas HUB-certified company.

I set up my company, Cricket Transcription & Proofreading LLC, and followed all the advice from that course, but I wasn’t having much luck.

In addition, I’m taking a legal proofreading course from an online website that is a “sister company” to the one above.  But I’m having trouble finishing, and this one cost even MORE than the general transcription course!

The other courses were boring and had me yawning!

I guess I get distracted, bored and frustrated because I spent so much money and I feel like it’s filled with too much that I can’t wrap my brain around everything.

My transcripts never seem to match the answer keys and I feel as though I will never get through it, which in turn, makes me feel as though I’ve wasted a lot of my time and money.

Then, you have to find the jobs either by marketing yourself or applying to big box companies and learn their style guides.

I’m so happy with the Learn to Transcribe™ legal transcription course!

But I have found Linda’s legal transcription course and within a couple weeks, I’m more than half done. I have learned SO MUCH MORE in this length of time than in any other course. The cost is right, also.

The technical portions of this course, although I’m not a technical person and I become easily confused (it usually sounds like jibberish to me), I have completely understood.

She writes her courses with the student’s point of view in mind. And since she has a lot of great information in the tech part of her course, I am able to troubleshoot and set up my computer to become a fast, efficient, professional legal transcriptionist.

I even understand the punctuation now!

The punctuation part… the other courses totally confused me. They recommended other online punctuation courses and reference books, which kind of helped, but other reference books equal more money spent.

Linda has found a way within her course to introduce the punctuation where I actually understand it!

CHECK IT OUT:  Legal Transcription Course with Apprenticeship Opportunity.

Going through the list of modules or sections coming up in Linda’s course, I find myself more interested and I can’t wait to see what the next section says. I get kind of excited and I want to soak it all in. No boredom or dread that I have so much more to go. I can’t wait to dive back in.

And I find myself going back and rereading some portions just so I know for a fact, I’ve got it. Or retaking some of her typing, vocabulary, and spelling tests to refresh my memory.

The little quizzes are great.

I love how Linda has a little quiz after each section to ensure you understand that portion before moving on to the next. It shows me that I’m really ready to move forward.

The legal transcription course is so student friendly!

The set up in Linda’s course is incredibly student friendly. You just keep going page after page and before you know it, you’re almost half done with the course, and it is chocked full of USEFUL information, not fluff.

RELATED:  Legal transcription apprenticeship.

I would most definitely recommend Linda’s course to anyone, whether they are brand new to this arena or a seasoned medical, general transcriptionist, or even a legal secretary who knows the language but needs to know how to put it all together.

Experienced instructor who knows her stuff.

With Linda’s years of experience and knowledge, we have a gold mine for an instructor! She has been there, done that.

Linda has proven herself over and over again to be the real deal and her goal is to teach the next generation of legal transcriptionists how to become the professional she has mastered over decades.

OUR REACTION

A big THANK YOU to Shellee, a shining star!  Thank you for your kind words.  We know that you are going to be an asset to your lucky clients!
